Twelve Traditions Study
Welcome!
Welcome to our study of the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. This website was produced to support our online study and provide all the literature you might need. In previous studies we have looked at two traditions a week by first reading the short form and long form of the the Tradition, the Traditions essay, then the Twelve Traditions Illustrated pamphlet before launching into a discussion around the inventory questions on each tradition. This site remains available for anyone wishing to undertake some personal study, but our experience has been that studying in a small group is perhaps best.
In the menu you'll find all the background reading and suggested further reading listed by tradition. To get the most out of this study it is recommended that you make use of the background reading.
In order to complete this study you will need your own copies of the AA publications below. You can read these online by clicking the images below but it is recommended that you have your own physical copies of these publications in order to make notes and build a familiarity with the literature. They can be bought at most AA groups or from the AA UK website.
You can download the Traditions Checklist that we use for the study by clicking the button below. This is an edited version of the GSO checklist with questions that better reflect the Traditions and our practices in the UK.
